Meat Prices:
Prices are based on per pound hanging weight. The purchaser pays for transportation, slaughter, and processing fees.
Whole Carcass: $1.70 per pound
Half Carcass: $1.70 per pound
Split Half (1/4): $1.70 per pound
Split Quarter (1/8): $1.70 per pound
Front Quarter Carcass: $1.75 per pound
Hind Quarter Carcass: $1.85 per pound
Front quarter yields mostly roasts and hind quarter yields mostly steaks (plus hamburger).
Split half (1/4) - two parties split a half; each getting an equal amount of roasts, steaks, and hamburger.
Split quarter (1/8) - four parties split a half; each getting equal amounts of roasts, steaks, and hamburger.
Hamburger: If you want to buy a quarter or half for hamburger, ask if we have an open cow that we plan on processing. We can sell quarters from cows cheaper than quarters from steers (price quoted above).
Down payment (25%) is required at time of purchase. After weight is established at the processing plant, the total amount will be calculated and the down payment will be subtracted from it.
Hanging weight of halves weigh about 400 pounds and quarters weigh about 200 pounds.
